Profile

Lovingly decorated by its owners with a curatorial collection of mid-century furniture and glassware, Bongo inspires longing in Eames (and eBay) addicts as they sip sweet cocktails and enjoy fish-shack fare in a retro setting that never sinks to kitsch. Comfortably stylish, this is the kind of place where you can either unwind with a dozen oysters and a mimosa after gallery-hopping, or fuel up on lobster rolls and a pomegranate vodka margarita before a late night of clubbing. In a neat twist, specialty martinis and margaritas are offered in both mini and generously-portioned regular sizes. A mixed crowd of artists, metrosexuals and the men they mimic pack the place most evenings, but if you're still hungry for eye candy, angle for a spot on a couch by the window and watch the parade stroll by.
