Profile
Yes, it’s weird that BAM is going to be premiering the pot-drive action comedy Pineapple Express, starring Seth Rogen and James Franco. But that’s only because the film’s producers made the very strange decision to hand the project to indie object of desire David Gordon Green, director of sober arty films including George Washington, All the Real Girls, Undertow, and Snow Angels. These films will all be screened at this tribute—along with a batch of Green’s favorite films, from the Pineapple-y Tango & Cash to Charles Laughton’s bad-trip nightmare Night of the Hunter.
