Profile
In the beginning, there was Blue Ribbon, which begat Blue Ribbon Sushi, which begat Blue Ribbon Bakery. It was only a matter of time, then, before brothers, chef-owners, and night owls Bruce and Eric Bromberg got around to Brooklyn. Although the space is bigger, Manhattan regulars can get their bearings with a few familiar Blue Ribbon landmarks: the neon OYSTERS sign in the window, the shellfish display, even an identical table No. 16, the big round one in the corner. The likewise familiar menu packs a few surprises including some newfangled surf 'n’ turf, like “dragon and phoenix,” Bromberg-speak for grilled Louisiana shrimp and pigeon.
Extra
Possibly the most family-friendly restaurant in all of New York, the menu includes just about anything a kid could want, from fried chicken to catfish fingers.
Note
Reservations are only accepted for groups of 5-10.
Surf and turf platter, $42; pigeon, $29; New Orleans shrimp, $16.50
