Profile

As if Manhattan's two other Chanel stores aren’t temptation enough, Chanel Fine Jewelry continues the label’s commitment to luxury and Parisian style with its stand-alone shop for baubles. Black glass panels and smooth white floors give the boutique a very modern look, though some of its vintage-inspired offerings, like the bulbous diamond rings and “quilted” gold bracelets, take their design from Coco Chanel’s original sketches. Those searching for Chanel enamel and ceramic jewelry should visit Bergdorf Goodman, since Chanel Fine Jewelry stands by its name and only sells jewelry made of precious metal and gems; enamel’s too pedestrian for these refined climes. Store regulars caution that the staff hoards some popular designs in the back for regular clients; don't be shy to ask if you're hunting for a specific piece. Also, in the classic "if you have to ask, it's probably too much" tradition, all the necklaces, watches and other eye-grabbing jewels float securely in shiny glass cases, their prices are less visible—and are available only upon request.

Wedding Rings

The crème-de-la-crème French fashion house offers an equally stylish line of fine jewelry. Bridal favorites include the company's signature "quilted" gold bands and camellia-shaped diamond rings. For a serious fashion statement, check out the men's and women's sleek Ultra Noire black ceramic bands set with diamonds in either white or yellow gold. Prices upon request.
