Co-designers Christopher Crawford and Angela Deane met in college at the University of Florida, bonding over their mutual love of thrift shopping. With Crawford acting as seamstress and Deane as the creative mind and stylist, the pair opened their first boutique in the East Village in 2002, eventually moving into this 1,200-square-foot studio and boutique as demand and their reputation grew. Known for feminine, silky cocktail dresses adorned with playful details葉wisted or off-the-shoulder straps, flouncy skirts, ruffled sleeves, and eye-catching prints葉he line has earned a following through its appearances in fashion mags like Lucky and Marie Claire. The design of the store resembles that of Sophia Eugene, Crawford’s more dressed-down spinoff shop in the West Village, with a blue velvet chair, lounging mannequins, and ornate gold detailing. The walls are painted in a patchwork of blue, a bold backdrop for the swirly, whimsical patterns of the frocks, tanks, and skirts.
