Profile
Opened in 2005, this chic boutique is focused, appropriately enough, on key pieces for your wardrobe. To that end, you'll find MK2K dresses in sweatshirt and silk stretch materials, J Brand jeans minus the back-pocket embroidery, and LBDs from vintage-inspired Kate and Kass. Emerging designers (many from New York, some from L.A.) are in constant rotation. Vintage heels, boots, and clutches litter the store, while jewelry — copper-tone bangles from Alex & Ani; gold necklaces and earrings from Maren and Ruby — adds that necessary sparkle. Key's owners are Mary Gasser and Eve Gelade, formerly of Foley + Corinna and the fashion PR firm Harrison and Shriftman respectively.

The Alterna-Sohos
While the rest of the city scurries up and down Broadway, these three micro–shopping districts remain blissfully unpicked-over.
