Profile
Owner Pema Kongpo's colorful boutique, opened in 2004, carries a vibrant collection of modern, fashionable clothes and accessories inspired by the culture of her native Tibet. Featuring dark-wood shelves and plenty of Buddha and lotus wall hangings, the one-room space is filled with comfortable casualwear for men and women from brands like Beau Bois and Komodo, including flowing tunics and chunky knit pullovers. Pema's brother, designer Migmar Tsering, is behind the store's in-house line, Pema, which consists of A-line skirts gussied up with sequin appliqués, comfy drawstring pants, logo tees and 50s-inspired frocks, made from natural fabrics like hemp, silk and raw cotton. To complete the look, Pema stocks a good selection of Indian beaded slippers, as well as au courant chandelier earrings, bracelets and slouchy bags.
