Wendy grew up in Seattle and was a nerdy kid who played the violin. "Then, at the age of 13 or 14, I went to California for the summer and came back transformed. One minute everyone was taunting me for being ugly and the next everyone wanted to be like Wendy."

Wendy is a bit of a dichotomy -- she is strong, determined, independent, wild, and "a little bit of trouble," but at the same time can be insecure and sensitive. Whatever the scenario -- single or dating -- she demands attention.

Her parents divorced when she was five, and Wendy was mainly brought up by her brother, who was six. Her mom was at the office all the time working hard to support them.

Wendy's father had been very wealthy in the eighties, but he lost it all and the family struggled. She describes her father as a flirty womanizer -- and Wendy knows she certainly inherited those attributes!
