SUPREME TRADING
213 N. 8th St.
718-599-4224
Early last fall, Supreme Trading filled the warehouse-size hole created by the closing of Volume with nearly 7,500 square feet of space and some of the most innovative parties in the city. Thanks to events ranging from a Halloween bash with costumes inspired by the seventies gang flick The Warriors to a spectacular twelve-hour New Year’s Eve party where underground M.C.s shared the stage with downtown punk bands, it’s pulled in a wonderfully mixed crowd of hip-hoppers, fashion students, and Brooklyn rock kids. Best of all, unlike Volume, Supreme Trading seems intent on steering clear of superstar D.J. nights that bring huge crowds—and visits from the dance police.
