Profile
To get there, you'll travel in a packed elevator up to the 16th floor of the Shelburne Murray Hill Hotel—and it's definitely worth the ride. Filled with local Murray Hillers (early 20-somethings in Diesel) and hotel clientele, the roomy rooftop bar has rope lights draped over mini-trees, plenty of tables and chairs for seating, and beds scattered throughout on which the tired—or not—can lounge. The midtown views are outstanding, and the sight of the Empire State and Chrysler buildings in all their glowing glory is overwhelmingly beautiful—especially if you’re tipsy on such fruity cocktail creations as a mango margarita or a blood-orange cosmo. Indeed, the only drawback is the early closing time of 11 p.m.
