Profile

Smooth or chunky is only the beginning: Savor the sticky stuff 21 different ways at this kitschy cafe, where you're transported back to elementary school with one bite of "ants on a log," celery sticks slathered with the peanut butter of your choice and studded with raisins. Request your Elvis (grilled peanut butter, banana, honey, bacon) on whole wheat if you must, though we're certain the King would disapprove. There must be a mom in the kitchen; sandwiches come with chips and carrot sticks, and they'll even cut off the crusts for you.

Recommended Dishes

Ants on a log, $4.50; the Elvis, $8.50; spicy peanut butter sandwich, $7.25; chocolate peanut butter pie, $4.50

Any time my inner child needs comforting, I can count on Peanut Butter & Co. to help. All your troubles vanish in that ooze of peanut buttery goodness. I am especially fond of the Cinnamon Raisin Swirl sandwich.

What terrific stuff - and ONLY in NY. The white chocolate peanut butter is smooth and delicately vanilla-scented. The dark chocolate peanut butter is rich and decadent. (Would make a great gelato base). Love the concept, and the staff - though young...Read More
