Profile
Cut from the same cloth as so many self-identified "chic" lounges, Vig Bar boasts the requisite brown leather banquettes, crimson velvet curtains and tiny votive candles. The bar itself is a sleek, intriguing Art Déco affair, but after wading through the generic crowd of after-work cocktailers and weekend bar-hoppers decked out in their latest Banana Republic sale items, you won't want to go near it again. That said, the DJ does a nice job of mixing Prince with Marvin Gaye, and occasionally local Mafioso types show up for a scotch, giving the joint a much-needed splash of seediness and personality.
ExtraThe name "Vig" comes from the slang term for the interest owed to a loan shark, which may explain why the place charges so much for a drink.
