Profile

This venue is closed.

A great place for secret business meetings, romantic liaisons, and any other one-on-one gatherings that require extreme discretion: Villard's lush gold-leaf-and-velvet-filled interior—inspired by Louis XIV, Napoleon, and Queen Victoria—is so dark that in certain corners you can barely see your hand in front of your face. So nobody can see you, either—not that you're likely to run into anybody you know here in the first place. And the generous drinks and maybe-we-can-skip-dinner nut selection will encourage you and your confidant(e) to linger.

Extra

Impress your friends by entering the bar through the unmarked door in the lobby of the New York Palace Hotel.

Private Rooms: The Villard Bar has four private rooms (cocktail parties from $75 per guest). Posh penthouse triplex suites host up to 125 (from $10,000, not including food).
