Profile
With its mid-century-modern aesthetic Chocolate Bar is a candy store for grown-ups. Partners Alison Nelson and Matt Lewis bonded over their addictions to coffee and chocolate, and stocked their twelve-seat shop with dark-chocolate-covered peanut-butter-and-jelly bars made by local bakers and confectioners like Jacques Torres, who supplies six flavors of iced and hot chocolate. Naturally, the owners insist on tasting everything they sell—a commitment that's taken its toll. "We stopped eating dinner altogether," says Lewis.
