Profile

After two decades as a New York chef-for-hire, Frank Crispo has finally landed an open kitchen of his own, where he's serving up delicious Italian-Mediterranean fare like mint-braised artichokes and a sliced hanger steak that puts most French bistros to shame (even minus the frites). The cozy room, the friendly service, and the gentle prices make this place a terrific addition to the neighborhood, but we'd come back for Frank's plate of lovingly sliced prosciutto alone.

Recommended Dishes

Veal medallions, $23.50; lamb chops, $28.95; braised artichokes, $11.50

I live in the area. Last minute dinners and entertaining come up and Crispo is an easy "go to" because its lackluster reviews allow it to always have empty seats. Food is okay- nothing to rave about. Staff is uncomfortable, awkward...Read More
