B-Side has found the perfect home on Avenue B—that veritable Shangri-La for women with side-swept bangs and men with skinny legs. The postage stamp-sized watering hole is a tranquil hangout for angst-y musicians and other East Village mascots to throw back drinks while taking in a little Bloc Party with their Bowie. Two small, dimly lit rooms feature a couple of wooden tables, some uncomfortable benches and your standard, eclectic jukebox. (This one plays everything from Otis Redding to PJ Harvey.) You can channel your inner adolescent via foosball, and whether it’s a $5 PBR-paired-with-a-shot-of-whisky or $2 mini can of Bud, the adult conversation is guaranteed to flow. — Lucy Cohen
