jazz at lincoln center, 5th floor
Frederick P. Rose Hall
The new jazz center will consist of three performance spaces, a
3,500 sq. ft. educational center, and the Jazz Hall of Fame. The
performance spaces vary in size from the Rose Theater's 1,200 seats
to Dizzy's
Club's 140 seats, but the Allen Room (pictured) with
600 seats will also feature a dance floor and a wall of glass with
panoramic views of the city. The world's first performing arts center
specifically designed for jazz should be groovy enough to make Ken
Burns (and artistic director Wynton Marsalis) proud.
Opening: Fall of 2004
