Four Weddings on a Budget
Budget: MediumEast Hampton Point
295 Three Mile Harbor Rd., East Hampton, N.Y. ; 631-329-2800
Location
This restaurant-marina-hotel on Three Mile Harbor is a good solution for couples who don’t want the pressure of an entirely self-planned affair, but still want the option of adding a personal touch (easthamptonpoint.com). The cost, which includes food, rentals, and staffing, is calculated on a per person basis. A Saturday wedding in September typically ranges from $130 to $200 per person, not including tax and tips. A daytime event between October and May will cost less.

Catering
General manager Caroline Scarpinato can help as much or as little as a couple likes. “Some brides call me once a day,” she says. “Some I don’t hear from until the day before.” The menu focuses on local fish and produce but can be customized. Couples can make use of the indoor seating as well as the terrace overlooking the harbor. There are no separate rental fees to consider, unless the bride and groom insist on linens or china that require outside vendors.
Music
Scarpinato often works with Vali Music (212-571-6931; valimusic.com). Their four bands can be “edited” to fit a budget or configured to specialize in any ethnic music. A typical package includes string ceremony musicians, a keyboard and sax for the reception, and an eight- to ten-piece band on the deck. Six hours of music range from $3,000 to $15,000, including travel for the Manhattan-based band. A D.J. averages $1,500 for four hours.
Flowers & Décor
Spectacular water views and a gorgeous sunset do a lot in the way of free décor. The restaurant provides candles. If brides want to personalize the space even more, Scarpinato has a list of local florists to recommend: Flowers by Beth, Jennifer Houser, and Antony Todd. She can also coordinate another special touch: The bride and groom can take their leave by sea plane (price upon request), or head to their waterfront honeymoon suite by boat ($150 captain’s fee).
Alternates: Wölffer Estate Vineyard in Sagaponack looks and feels like a Tuscan farmhouse. The venue fee is $11,500 to $16,500. Clients may choose from their list of preferred caterers, florists, and designers (631-537-5106; wolffer.com). • The Bridgehampton Inn (631-537-3660; bridgehamptoninn.com) is a charming bed-and-breakfast owned by Loaves & Fishes, the famed Sagaponack catering company. Clients must rent all six rooms for the weekend ($230–$355 a room, depending on the season). From October 1 to May 1, you can rent the rooms for one night instead of two.
