Grand Central Terminal

Date: Built between 1903 and 1913.

Architects: Reed & Stem and Warren & Wetmore.

Grand Central in History: While it's commonly known as Grand Central "Station," the correct name is actually Terminal. "Central" refers not to the terminal's location, but to its parent company, New York Central Railroad.

Grand Central Today: More than 500,000 people pass through Grand Central every day. In recent years, it's become a destination in its own right, with trendy restaurants like Metrazur and Michael Jordan Steakhouse, an upscale food court, clothing and jewelry boutiques, and Grand Central Market, a "European-style food hall" filled with vendors of fresh fish, produce, cheese, and more.

Address: 42nd Street and Park Avenue
